There are as many kinds of adhesive as there are things to glue together.
You've used white glue, and probably stuck your fingers together with superglue more than once. It's everywhere - even places you wouldn't have thunk of.
* Medical, as a replacement for stitches
* Aerospace, as a replacement for rivets
* Marine. The deck and hull of most every fiberglass boat is glued together.
* Automotive. The trim stays put with an adhesive tape.
