This is a two-piece aluminum vacuum valve with a self-positioning threaded locking pin. This allows the locking pin to be tightened in any position on the ramp of the base.
This valve is inserted through the vacuum bag by cutting an "X" in the bagging film*. The bottom of base plate is designed to prevent the breather from compressing under base plate and sealing off.
This valve is ideal for use up to 500°F/260°C, and with all bagging materials and resin systems.
* If you would prefer to cut a different letter such as a Q, feel free.
